Ruth Ward passed away on August 28, 2009 at the age of 83. Ruth was born in the countryside of Southern England on March 18, 1926. She married Russ Ward on August 12, 1944 and she later joined Russ in Canada in 1946. Ruth was a loving person with plenty of stories of her life in England. She also had many tales to tell of her venture to the Canadian prairies. Ruth was predeceased by her loving husband Russ in 2008 and her daughter Wendy in 2007. Ruth will be sadly missed by daughter Ginger (Ron) Sunde; grandchildren Terri, Stacy, Robin, Steven, Scott and their families; brothers, Tony and John from England. Flowers are gratefully declined but for those so wishing may make a memorial donation to charity of one’s choice. A very special thank you to the Providence Place nursing staff for their care of Ruth. A private family service will be held with Reverend Dave Moore officiating. Ruth will be laid to rest with her husband Russ at Rosedale cemetery. In living memory of Ruth, a tree will be planted in Besant Park by W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home.
