In the morning of Tuesday, February 5, 2019 we said prayers and goodbyes for our loved one, Marie Carmody (nee Vissey) at the PEI Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home. Formerly of West Royalty, Marie was born on July 8, 1931 to the late John (Jack) and Margaret Vissey (nee Costello). Loving mother of Betty Lou Parker-MacDonald (Ronnie), Gordon (Nancy), Shirley Hill (Loman), Shane, Kevin, Dolly and Cathy Daly (John). Special nanny to 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Lovingly remembered by brothers Jack and Harvey Vissey and sisters Joan (Toni) Smith and Cathy Wells. Also remembered by sister-in-law Helen McGregor and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Gordon Carmody; daughter Barbara Dunsford; son Scott Carmody; daughter-in-law Pauline Carmody; grandson Jordon Carmody; brothers Fred and Hubert Vissey and step brothers Louis and Sidney McNevin. Resting at Belvedere Funeral Home until Friday, February 8, then to St. Dunstan’s Basilica for funeral mass at 10:00 am. Interment to take place at the Roman Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
