Combley, Dorothy Gladys
1923-2011
The death of Dorothy Gladys Combley, 87, occurred on Wednesday May 25, 2011, at the Sackville Memorial Hospital. Born in Saint John, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Stanley and Florence (Oakes) Hargreaves.
Dorothy has her 50-year pin from the IODE and is a long-time member of the Altar Guild with St. Paul's Anglican Church. She was a faithful member of her bridge club for over 40 years. She enjoyed traveling but in particular, enjoyed her cottage at Heather's Beach.
She will be sadly missed by two daughters, Carol (Hart) Swedersky of Sackville and Joan Randall of Petitcodiac; eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a niece, Sue Hargreaves and one nephew, Paul (Kay) Hargreaves.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her late husband, Robert; two brothers, Sydney and Norman and a son-in-law, Robert Randall.
Dorothy's remains have been cremated under the care and supervision of Jones Funeral Home, 70 Bridge Street, Sackville (364-1300) from where visitation was held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2011. A memorial service for Dorothy was held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 29, 2011, from St. Paul's Anglican Church, Sackville. The Right Reverend George Lemmon, The Former Bishop Of Fredericton officiated. Interment took place at the Fairhaven Memorial Gardens on Monday, May 30.
