FENTON-LeBRETON, SYLVIA (STEVENS) - 1926-2011 - Sylvia LeBreton, 85, of Moncton passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital on May 31, 2011. Sylvia was born in Saint John on March 18, 1926 the daughter of the late Weldon and Ethel (Mason) Stevens. She graduated from Riverside Consolidated School, got her education then started her teaching career at Osborne Corner in a one room school house. She eventually got her Masters at UNB having taught through her schooling. She was a beloved primary school teacher at Hillsborough Elementary for many years. She was a member of the Pathway Church in Lakeville and served as a church clerk and taught Sunday School for many years. Her faith was very important to her and she prayed daily. She loved gardening, crossword puzzles and reading. Sylvia was a fountain of knowledge and loved learning as well as teaching. She held a special place in her heart for all children and was very giving to those in need. She was small in stature but had a huge heart. She was always there for her family, she was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Whenever her great grandchildren where around her face would light up. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her sweet smile and will live on in the hearts of her family forever. She will be deeply missed by her step-daughters, April (Dereck Robinson) of Chipman and Donna (Kevin Keoughan) of Mirimachi; grandchildren, Elizabeth of Albert Mines, Judy (John Claus) of Toronto, Andy of Albert Mines, Shawna of Lakeville and Sarah of Mirimachi; great grandchildren, Ryan, Cody, Tara, Jamin, Ethan, Talia and Hunter ; sisters, Hazel Stevens of Riverview, Shirley Murray of Moncton and Wanda Parker of Lower Coverdale; brother, Loris "Sandy" ( Eleanor) Stevens of Saint John. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, George Elberton, beloved daughter, Carol; sister, Lillian Tracy and brother-in-law, Reid Parker.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Thursday evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral Service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Friday, June 3, 2011 at 4:30pm with Pastor Paul Donelle officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
