Margaret MacKeigan
It is with heartfelt sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Margaret “Eleanor” MacKeigan of Trenton formerly of Port Morien. Eleanor passed away at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow on February 28, 2019.
Born in Brookline, Mass., Eleanor was the daughter of the late James and Catherine “Tattie” MacLeod. She was at employed Eaton’s, Sears and also worked at the family bakery “MacKeigan’s”. Mom loved to cook, bake, knit and crochet. She was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, but the biggest joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her daughter Kim (Robert) LeCreux and son Kirk (Heather) MacKeigan, grandchildren Ashley, Robert, Jason, Brandon, Vanessa, Zoey, Katherine and great-granddaughter Hayden. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Calvin MacKeigan and brother Duncan.
Visitation will take place on Monday, March 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 at Patten Funeral Home, Union Street, Glace Bay with funeral service held on Tuesday, March 5 at 11 am in the Patten Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Biggar officiating. Interment to take place in Black Brook Cemetery at a later date.
