The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 of Mr. Joseph R. “Joe” Paquet of Andrews of Stratford and formerly of Sherwood, aged 88 years.
Beloved husband of the late Vernita (nee MacKenzie) Paquet. Dear father of Nancy (Pat) Callaghan, Anne Stevenson, Martha (David) Godkin. Joe is also fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jeffery, Matthew Callaghan, Brian and Andrew Stevenson, Sarah and Jeremy Godkin; great-grandchildren Jillian, Cohen; brothers Louis (Ida) of Montreal, Elmer (Anita) of Charlottetown, James (Mary) of Charlottetown, Gerard (Valerie) of Saint John; sister Peggy (Clark) Gallant of Stanhope; and his sister-in-law Eileen of Stratford. He was predeceased by his brothers Edward and John.
Resting at the Hennessey Funeral Home until 9:45 on Friday morning, then transferred to St. Pius X Church for funeral mass at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in the family plot at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley.
If so desired, memorials in Joe’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Visiting hours at the funeral home Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Branch #1 of the Royal Canadian Legion will gather at the funeral home for a Veteran’s Tribute Service for their late comrade Thursday evening at 6:45 p.m.
