Beverly Ann Payne

It is with deep sadness we announce the death of our mother, Beverly Ann Payne (nee Reid), age 84, at Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax on March 2, 2019. She passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side.
She leaves behind her children, Lloyd (Jayne), Port Moody, B.C, Lori (Gary Walsh), Halifax and Darryl (Angie), Lunenburg N.S; her brother, Banford, Baddeck; grandsons, Chris, Doug, and Brad and granddaughters, Abbey and Alex. She is also survived by in-laws, Arthur and Ursula Payne, Toronto, Linda Payne, Bedford as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Ernie in 2012, her parents, Clarence and Mary (Martin); her brother, Howard; her brothers-in-law, Jim and Gary Payne and a niece in infancy.
Born on December 22, 1934 and raised in Glace Bay, she was the only daughter of Clarence and Mary (Mae) Reid of Table Head. She graduated from Nova Scotia Normal College in Truro in 1953 and taught school full time in Glace Bay and Coxheath for a number of years before deciding to stay at home to raise her family. She was later a substitute teacher in Glace Bay and surrounding communities until 1989.
Bev enjoyed traveling, square dancing, following politics and current events, baking, being a homemaker, and mostly, spending time with her family. She was blessed to have had a wonderful marriage of 55 years and passed away on her wedding anniversary.
The family would like to thank the staff at Point Pleasant Way for the care and compassion shown our mother over the past four years and for their incredible support and kindness during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held June 22, 2019 at Warden United Church, Glace Bay with Rev. Alison Etter officiating. Cremation has taken place and internment will be in Forest Haven Memorial Garden on Grand Lake Road.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of J A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Dr., Halifax, NS B3S 0E1.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bev’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or charity of choice.
