Fannie MacDonald

Fannie MacDonald

Lieu de décès : Baddeck
Date de décès : 4 mars 2019

The family of Fannie MacDonald sadly announces her passing on March 4, 2019 at the Victoria County Hospital, Baddeck with family and friends by her side.
Born in Wagmatcook, she was the daughter of the late Peter Googoo and Julia (Kiju) Cremo.
Fannie was a loving wife and mother. My mother was a beautiful soul; she was full of love for everyone, never judged and would literally give her last dollar if someone needed it; that was just the way she was. She loved spending time with her grandchildren any chance she could and was a child at heart and loved being with them. She also loved her dear husband Kelvin MacDonald; she cherished her time with him and their little drives they would always take together; they were like two little love birds always very affectionate, like two teenagers in love. She loved spending time with daughter Rosemary Sparks and her son-on-law Brenton Sparks.
Fannie loved the outdoors and loved to go swimming. She loved her family very much and loved spending time visiting and chatting with them. Fannie attended CBU and earned a bachelor’s degree in arts and a major in psychology. She also earned a bachelor’s degree in Mi’kmaq studies at Mount Allison University in Sackville, NB. She was an avid reader, loved books of all kinds and loved learning new things and acquiring knowledge. She loved people so much that she would make friends wherever she went. She often enjoyed a little gambling along with her favorite drink, a Singapore Sling, (lol), always hoping she would win big and talked about how she would help out her family when she won. She was always thinking of others before herself. She left us with her hope of the resurrection knowing that we would all be together again soon, and that gave her great comfort.
Fannie is survived by her loving husband, Kelvin MacDonald; daughter, Rosemary (Brenton) Sparks, Halifax; grandchildren, Jéannine MacDonald, Tiauna Sparks, Angelica Sparks, Ajah Sparks, Déandre Cameron; sisters, Sophie Pierro, Florence Phillips, Anne-Marie Burns, Barbara Googoo, Mary Louise Bernard, Nancy MacDonald; brothers, Alfred Alex, Eldon Alex, Freeman Francis; godparents, Colin Campbell and Miss MacNeil and godchild, Freeman Jij Pierro.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son, Alvin David MacDonald; sisters, Nora Isadore, Charlotte Pierro ‘Cherry’; brothers, Henry and Donald Googoo and grandparents, Louise and Mary Isadore.
The family would like to thank the palliative care doctors and nurses along with the staff of the Victoria County Hospital where Fannie had been for the past six months battling cancer, for their exceptional care and compassion.
Visitation for Fannie MacDonald will begin after 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 9 at the Elder Center, 57 Fishery Rd, Wagmatcook. A traditional funeral service will take place on Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at the Elder Center, 57 Fishery Road, followed by interment at the Queen of the World Cemetery. A salite will follow at the Wagmatcook Cultural Center.
