OUTHOUSE, EDISON HECTOR - (1930 - 2011) - Of White Head Island passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the Grand Manan Hospital. He was born the son of the late Millard and Lou (Leary) Outhouse. Spending most of his life on White Head Island working as a lobster fisherman he made White Head his home. He married his sweetheart Marion Carroll and they enjoyed spending time in each others company for fifty-four years watching baseball games, playing cards and board games with friends, trips to Cheney’s Island and even during the last few years of Marion’s life Edison remained her true companion with his faithful visits to see her at the Nursing Home until she left us last November. Visits to the store to enjoy a laugh, exchange the baseball, and hockey scores with Phillip, Barry, and the gang was always part of his day that he enjoyed, and just to see how the fisherman were doing following his retirement from fishing. He shared the same quality of his wife Marion, he was a friend to all that on White Head. He is survived by his nephews Anthony (Carol-Ann) Outhouse of Grand Harbour, and Scott Outhouse of North Head. Also his sister-in-law Maudie Trecartin (Outhouse) of North Head, niece Elaine Cossaboom of Montreal, and his great nieces Miriam McCraken of Sarnia, ON, and Kimberly Allan of Montreal. His great nephews Blaine Cossaboom of Grand Harbour, and Blanchard Cossaboom of Edmonton, AB. He was predeceased by his wife Marion, and his brother Glendon.
Visiting will take place at the White Head Baptist Church on Friday from 7 to 9 pm and the funeral service will take place from the church on Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 2:15 pm with Rev. Jim Appleby officiating. The interment will follow at the White Head Community Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are in the care of ELLS FUNERAL HOME INC. 1199 route 776, Grand Manan NB E5G 1G2.
