STEWART, DANIEL - 1931 - 2011 - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Daniel Hugh Stewart at the Moncton City Hospital on May 31st. Born in Winnipeg, son of the late Hugh and Helen (Templeton) Stewart. He fought bravely since he was first diagnosed with prostate cancer six years ago. Danny was to celebrate his 80th birthday on June 19. He is survived by his wife, Anne (Pineau) Stewart, his children Helen-Marie Stewart of Ottawa, Douglas Stewart of Moncton, Annette Ulley (Dave) of Airdrie, AB., Karen Fraser (Kevin) of Winsloe, PE, Juanita Maillet (Roger) of Ottawa, and Maureen Canam (Fred) of Kingston, ON. He was also survived by a half-sister, Heather Birchall of Newmarket, ON. He was a loving Grandfather to Devon and Amber, Daniel and Jessica, Caitlin, Bryan, Alyssa and Kayla. Daniel was an Air Defense Technician (Fighter Cop) in the RCAF and Canadian Forces for 30 years. Following retirement, he was a member of the Corps of Commissionaires. He was an aviation buff, loved classical music and was a great admirer of Sarah Brightman. He will be remembered as a devoted husband and a caring and compassionate Father. Donations in lieu of flowers to Prostate Cancer research or the Oncology Unit of Moncton Hospital.
Visitation is available from 2 to 4 pm on Sunday, June 5 at Fair Haven Funeral Home, 1177 Salisbury Rd Moncton (506) 852-3530. Funeral service to be held at 10:30 am on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Chapel of Fair Haven Funeral Home followed by a reception in the Garden View Reception Room.
