Andrew Greig Duncan, 69, of Trafalgar Road, Riverton, Pictou County – It is with great sadness that the family of the late Andrew Greig Duncan announce his passing on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at home.
Andrew was born in Liverpool, England on May 27, 1942 and was a son of the late Andrew and Barbara (Greig) Duncan.
Prior to his retirement, Andrew worked for Michelin Canada for 34 years. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
Andrew was always willing to lend a fixing hand to anyone who asked. He loved fishing, golfing with his sons-in-law and friends and had a great love for his four dogs.
Teasing his granddaughter was a favorite past time, but he was most proud of her musical talent and singing.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, the former Frances Marie (Pratt), Riverton; daughters, Barbara (Pierre) Trudeau, Catherine (Jeff) Sawler, Lisa (Barry) Stout, and Andrea; granddaughter, Tarah; step-grandchildren: Chelsae, Krystin and Jacob; brothers, George and Bill; sister-in-law, Carol.
He was predeceased by brothers, Bob and Tom.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday from the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel, New Glasgow, with Rev. Foster Jenkins presiding. A reception will follow in the funeral home.
Family flowers only. Donations in memory of Andrew may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
