It is with great sadness that the family announce the death of Robert Binette of Quispamsis, N.B., devoted husband for 39 years to Paula (McCarthy) Binette, who passed away on June 2, 2011, at the Saint John Regional Hospital in Saint John, N.B.
Born August of 1945 in Montreal, PQ, to the late Cyprien and Madeleine (Lahaie) Binette. Robert was an Engineer Estimator and worked for the Irving Oil Refinery for over 25 years, retiring in 2006.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather “papa”, brother, uncle and friend; a member of the St. Mark’s Catholic Church, an avid golfer, hockey fan, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife Paula, Robert is survived by his children Marc (Sherry) of Fredericton, Mara Griffin (Steve), and Jeremie both of Quispamsis; precious grandchildren Connor, Isaac, Riley and Brianna; one brother Gilles (Louise) of Montreal, PQ; aunt Pauline Boismenu of PQ; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, 21 nieces and nephews and many special friends. Besides his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister-in-law Madelyn McCarthy.
Resting at the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, N.B. (506-646-2424) with visitation on Sunday, June 5, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated from St. Mark’s Catholic Church, 171 Pettingill Road, Quispamsis, N.B., on Monday, June 6, 2011, at 10 a.m., followed by a reception. Interment to take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Norton, N.B.
Donations in Robert’s memory can be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society, St. Mark’s Catholic Church or the charity of the donor’s choice.
