Died peacefully at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, St. John's NL in the presence of her loving family on April 1, 2019. Predeceased in 2001 by her husband, Angus J. Campbell and infant son, Richard (1950), her parents, Patrick J. & Margaret O'Reilly, her brother, Leslie O'Reilly and sisters, Geraldine Linegar and Emily Coleman. Left to mourn and celebrate her wonderful life, Anne Campbell [Janet Lenover] Waterdown, ON, Rob (Betty) Campbell, St. John's, Scott (Cathy) Campbell, Witless Bay, Susan (Michael) Murray, Portugal Cove; her cherished grandchildren, Colleen Rice, Edmonton, AB, Lesley Mooney, Katey, Texas, Cathy Campbell, Gillian Campbell, Andrew Campbell, St. John’s, Evan Murray, Portugal Cove, Timothy Murray St. John's, Cameron Murray, Portugal Cove and her precious great -grandchildren, Nicholas, Zoe Ostapachuck & Lewis Rice, Isabella, Campbell & Emma Mooney, Courtney Campbell & Thomas O'Driscoll, Arabella, Arianna, Avery & Camren Campbell. Maureen was born in St John's in 1926, the youngest in her family and raised at Ashleaf, the O'Reilly family home in the Smithville area. Angus & Nina were married in 1948 and enjoyed a long and happy marriage raising their four children on Osborne Street in St. John's and St. Phillip’s. Nina was a very talented and creative person. She was an accomplished interior designer with exceptional natural gifts for design and colour which she enhanced by correspondence studies through New York School of Art & Design. Throughout her married life she worked alongside Angus in his architectural business offering her support, ideas and enhancements to his many projects. Nina's creativity & commitment to life-long learning extended to her wonderful gardens, music, the arts, philosophy & marvellous culinary creations which filled her home with joy. Her perennial garden at her home in St Phillip's was a marvel and after Angus's death was a place of solace and spiritual peace for her. Nina expressed how she was proud to be able to be independent into her old age caring for her home and gardens. In her last year’s Nina was cared for by family, compassionate caregivers and the exceptional nursing staff at St. Patrick’s Mercy Home. Family will welcome friends at a Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Thursday, April 4 from 6:00-9:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 5 from the Carnell Memorial Chapel at 11:00 am.
