Peacefully at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Hospital, Alberton, on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, with his loving family by his side of Charles Henry MacRae beloved husband of Marie (nee Doucette) MacRae of 58 Harper Rd., Tignish, age 83 years. Veteran of the Second World War. Born on May 1, 1926, he was the son of the late Frederick William and Eva Mae (nee Grey) MacRae. Cherished father to Barbara Hannan of St.Rock P.E.I., Marion Day of Saint John, N.B., Charles MacRae of Toronto, Kail MacRae of Plaster Rock, N.B., Ron MacRae of Saint John N.B., Wayne MacRae of Saint John N.B., Brenda Wright of Saint John N.B., Sheila Foster of St. Thomas, Ont., Debby Harkness of Summerside., Sharon Worton of Plymouth, Mass., Donna MacRae of Saint John, N.B., Pamela Blanchard of Blacks Harbour, N.B., George MacRae of Saint John N.B. He will be sadly missed by his 26 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by four sisters and two brothers. Ronald MacRae of B.C., Fred of Grand Bay, N.B., Marjorie MacRae of Woodstock, Ont., Bertha Winott of Greenwood, N.S., Kay MacRae of London, Ont., Phyllis Tuplin of Saint John, N.B. He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law as well as his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Shirley, as well as a sister, Marion Winters, and by brothers, Walter, Earl and John. Resting at the Rooney Funeral Home, Alberton. Visiting hours Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral on Friday morning from St. Simon and St. Jude Church, Tignish, for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. As an expression of sympathy memorials to the Canadian cancer Society would be gratefully appeciated. The Tignish Branch #26 of he Royal Canadian Legion will hold a service of remembrance for their departed member at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 6;:45 p.m.
