The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, of Mildred Champion, R.N., of Summerside, aged 78 years. Born in River Hebert, N.S., she was the daughter of the late Henry “Harry” and Margaret (MacAleese) Stewart. She is survived by her husband. Keith Champion, children, David Champion, Summerside, Nancy (Dr. Ian) Moore, Charlottetown, Carla Champion (David Keating), Kingsport, N.S., grandchildren, Joanna Champion, Calgary, Alta., Chelsey, Lindsay and Tyler Moore, Charlottetown, Stella and Abbie Champion-Keating, Kingsport, N.S., sisters, Ruth (Danny) White, River Hebert, N.S., and Margaret Rose (Bruce) Erickson, Fortune Cove. Predeceased by her brothers, Newton and Alexander “Sandy” Stewart. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Friday, then to Trinity United Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Multiple Myeloma Society would be appreciated.
