MILTON, DARREL FREDERICK "DUNK" - 1924-2011 - Darrel Frederick "Dunk" Milton, 87, of Edgett's Landing passed away on June 4, 2011 at the Moncton Hospital with his family by his side. Darrel was born in Albert Mines on January 29, 1924 the son of the late Fred and Myrtle (Gamble) Milton. He worked for Harry Berryman in the lumber industry and also worked for T.P. Downey & Sons as foreman of the planing mill until his retirement. He was a very hard worker and had a very good work ethic, not many would put in the effort that Darrel did. He enjoyed woodworking and was known for his craftsmanship, making many table and chair sets for Eatons. He loved sports of all kinds, having played hockey, baseball and golf over the years. He also enjoyed watching his favorite teams on tv, spending many nights yelling for his home team. He liked all animals, especially his dogs. His family was the most important to him, he loved his wife, Kay and enjoyed all the time they spent together, they were like two peas in a pod. He also had a very special place in his heart for his girls and for his grandchildren and great grandchildren, they were his pride and joy. He will live on in the hearts of his family forever. He will be deeply missed by his beloved wife, Kathleen "Kay" (Hillman) Milton; daughters, Anna Wright of Victoria, BC and Lois Snider (Vaughn) of Hillsborough; his treasured grandchildren, Darrelyn, Andrew (Lisa), Becky, Barry (Tanya), Andrea and Dan (Chelsea); and by his cherished seven great grandchildren. He will also be missed by his twin brother, Dana (Jean) of Weldon and by several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brothers, Elvert and Allison; sister, Jean Scott and by his great granddaughter, Bailey Joy Snider.
He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home on Monday evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the Albert County Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:00am with Rev Bruce Alcorn officiating. Interment will be held in the Green Hill Cemetery, Edgett's Landing, NB. Donations to the Green Hill Cemetery or to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
