TAYLOR, Kathleen Louise – age 93 of Pleasant Lake, Yarmouth Co., N.S. passed away peacefully on April 20, 2019 surrounded by the love of her family in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born April 16, 1926 in Halifax, and raised in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Dugald and Bessie (Sarty) Fraser. Kathleen was a member of the New Heights Baptist Church and life long member of the Lynn Stairs Women’s Missionary Society. She was very much involved in the life of her Church, working as a Sunday School teacher, and a leader in both Mission Band and Bible Club. She was a Spiritual mentor to many people through the county. She was trained in palliative care and visited those in the community and the hospital who were ill and dying. She was a beloved Mother, who taught her children to love, to laugh, to appreciate nature and life’s simple joys. Each of her children, her grand children and her great-grand children was special to her. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ron) Baxter, Port Williams; Susan (Dan) Gibson, Canning; Deborah (Dennis) Kaye, Hebron; Anne (Don) Hebb, LaBelle; Barbara (Hoyt) Price, Edmonton; Elaine (Tom) Earle, Pleasant Lake; Mary Dale Taylor (Len O’Brien) Yarmouth; Hugh (Denise) Taylor, Darlings Lake; sister, Shirley (Mrs. Ira Crouse) Bridgewater; 20 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her husband Arthur “Stewart” Taylor; twin sisters in infancy; brothers, Frank and Dugald; sister, Carol Sarty. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A joint memorial service for Kathleen and Stewart will be held at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Tri County VON, Canadian Baptist Ministries, or a charity of your choice.
