Victor Robert Pepler
At his residence in Montague on Saturday, June 04, 2011, of Victor Robert Pepler of Montague, aged 98 years.
Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Timms).
Dear father of Meridee, Montague and Shelly, Baker Lake, Nunavut.
Also survived by twin sister Marjory (Pat) Warwick, England.
Predeceased by his parents, Henry and Alice and sisters, Dorothy and Nelly.
A watchmaker by trade, Victor and his wife, Joan, emigrated to Canada in 1948. Shortly after that, Victor opened Pepler's Jewellers in Montague, which he proudly operated forover 50 years. Victor's love of gardening, painting, classical music, sharpshooting and military history provided countless hours of joy. He donated time to the local Museum Board as well as the Literacy Society, where he taught adults not only how to read, but the joy of reading. He did this work well into his eighties. Victor will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him. His children could not have asked for a kinder, gentler person to call their Dad. We wish our Dad godspeed on his newest journey and know that our mother and countless pets are waiting with open arms for him.
No visiting hours or funeral service by personal request. If so desired, memorials to The P.E.I. Humane Society or to The Garden of the Gulf Museum would be appreciated
A celebration of life will be held in his garden at a later date.
Interment to take place in the Community Park Cemetery.
