PURDY, Robert Jr. Dow – 57, of Yarmouth, passed away May 27, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A Loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather he was born November 28, 1953 in Yarmouth, N.S. He was a son of Emma Ruth (Ryerson) Purdy and the late Robert Dow Purdy Sr. Robert was a fisherman and enjoyed golf, hunting, and fly fishing in his spare time. Most of all he loved spending time with is family. Robert is survived by loving wife, Catherine (Brush), Yarmouth; Daughters, Melanie Purdy; Tara (Charles) Purdy Muise; Brother, Gregory Purdy (Cary Porter); Grandchildren, Cindel Purdy and Kain Muise. Robert is predeceased by brother Amos Purdy. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Sweeny’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Yarmouth. Visitation took place Thursday, June 2 from 12-2 p.m from Sweeny’s Funeral Home Chapel. A Memorial service followed at 2 pm, Eugene Hurlburt officiated. Interment will follow at a later date.
