Gertie Mae (Frost) Sullivan, 85, passed away on May 31, 2011, in Tideview Terrace, Digby. Born in Tiddville, Digby County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Edna (McCullough) Frost. Known for her peanut butter fudge and her enjoyment of company, Gertie is described as being a lady who liked staying home and taking great care of her loved ones. She is predeceased by her first husband, John Gosson; second husband, Wilfred Sullivan; son, Ricky; and granddaughter, Jennifer. Gertie is survived by her sons, Robert, Wade (Lawna), and Stephen (Corinne); daughters, Rena (Dan), Bev (Joe), Wanda (Wayne), and Trisha (Tom); brothers, Lew, Donnie, and Keith; sisters, Edna, Glee, Dot, Millie and Mabel; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Lindsay Funeral Home and Crematorium, 568 Main Street, Wolfville, B4P 1E7. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service took place Thursday, June 2, in Little River Cemetery. Donations in Gertie’s memory may be made to Digby General Hospital.
