Doreen Currie (nee Hayden) passed away suddenly at her family residence in Deer Lake on Monday, August 31st, 2009, in her 62nd year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: John (Jennifer) and two children: Maegan and Nicholas; her daughters: Amanda (Fiore Calarco) and their two children: Evelyn and Antonino; and Donna (Russell Olstad) and their daughter, Autumn; her siblings: Louise (Percy Beck), Irene (Warwick Hewitt), Bill (Maxine), Eric (Pat) and Myra (Dan Spence); brothers-in-laws: Seward (Jan) Currie and Art Currie. Doreen was predeceased by her husband, Donald Currie in 1996; her parents, Victor and Maude Hayden; her mother and father- in-laws, Evelyn and Jack Currie. Also leaves to mourn a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, family and friends. Doreen was a long time resident of Deer Lake/Pasadena area, being a well-recognized member of the community. The family will be receiving family and friends from Parsons Funeral Home & Chapel, 63 North Main Street, Deer Lake, today, Thursday, September 3rd, 2009 from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and continuing on Friday, September 4th, 2009 from the hours of 10-12. The funeral service will take place on Friday, September 4th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Paul's United Church in Deer Lake, with the Rev. Dr. Tony Newell and Rev. Andrew Wright officiating. Burial to follow at the family plot of the United Church Cemetery in Pasadena. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in Doreen's memory.
