GERBRANDT - Wade, age 48 of Swift Current, SK passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011 at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon, SK. The funeral service was held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. from the Church Of The Open Bible with Pastor Rob Cochrane officiating. The Pianist was Wendy Cochrane, special music provided by Harold Gerbrandt. The eulogists were Shannon & Darryl Elaschuk, Kim Chaulk & Darren Angell. The ushers were Charles Gerbrandt & Doug Janke. The interment service was held Hillcrest Cemetery, Swift Current. The pallbearers were Randy Chaulk, Darren Angell, Darryl Elaschuk, Jim Mather, Dan Sawatzky and Bryan Nybo. Wade is survived by his parents Elmer & Elsie Gerbrandt; brother Dennis and Donna Gerbrandt and their children Lindsay, Scott, and Robyn; sister Laurie Gerbrandt and her children Will and Ella; brother Joe Gerbrandt and his son Clay. Wade is predeceased by grandparents Bill and Olga Yanke and John and Helen Gerbrandt. Wade was born in Swift Current on June 18, 1962. He graduated from the Swift Current Comprehensive High School in 1980. He owned his own farm and farmed with his parents north east of Swift Current all his life. He was a driving force behind the Swift Current mixed volleyball league. Wade played rec volleyball and enjoyed cheering on the Broncos. He played fastball and softball for many years. He participated in hockey drafts and watched all sports and knew a huge amount of sports trivia.
