CARIBOU – John Frederick “Fred” Langille Jr., 56, of Caribou, Pictou County, passed away suddenly on June 6th, 2011.
Although gone too soon, his family is thankful he did not suffer.
Fred was born on January 29th, 1955 in Pictou. He lived his entire life in Caribou, where he spent hours doting over his beautiful property, especially “on the hill”. He cherished spending summers on Pictou Island with his family, relaxing and entertaining. He relished frequent visits from “the boaters”, as well as “Thursday nights”. Fred loved his annual vacations, almost as much as he enjoyed making his wife happy. Fred enjoyed the simple pleasures in life and loved nothing more than a challenging Sudoku each morning. He was a dedicated employee of Partners Construction for 16 years and his rare ability to design and build anything was well-known. His hearty laugh, humour and wisdom will be missed, as will the hugs he loved to give.
He was loved and will be missed dearly by his best friend and wife of 37 years, Kay; children, Jennifer Langille (Rod Miller) and Ryan Langille; sisters, Donna (Ed) Bullerwell and Glennie Langille; mother-in-law, Jean Battist; sister-in-law, Liz Battist, and brother-in-law, Raymond Battist; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Fred was predeceased by his parents, John and Jean Langille and father-in-law, Raymond Battist.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. on Friday from St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Pictou, with cremation to follow. Reception immediately following the church service in Caribou Fire Hall. Burial will be Saturday in the Waterside Cemetery.
Donations in Fred’s memory may be made to the Waterside Cemetery, or the Central Caribou Cemetery, two causes Fred supported in life.
