Mary Catherine 'Frances' Christoff

Lieu de naissance : Dominion, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada

Lieu de décès : SYDNEY, Nouvelle Ecosse, Canada
Date de décès : 6 juin 2011

Mary Catherine ‘Frances’ Christoff, 88, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2011, at her home, Harbourstone Enhanced Care, Sydney, with her devoted daughter by her side.
Born in Dominion, she was the daughter of John J. McNeil and Sarah (Matheson) MacNeil, the last surviving sibling of her four brothers and two sisters.
Frances was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Eugene’s parish, while she made Dominion her home. Since making Harbourstone her home she very much enjoyed attending mass with Fr. MacPhee in the chapel. She also was a follower of Mass for Shut-Ins that she faithfully watched weekly.
Frances made her life endeavours that of being a proud homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She treasured times spent with family but always had a special adoration for each and every baby she had the opportunity to spend time with and spoil. She cherished her grandchildren and loved to share stories of their achievements from education, vocations, craftiness, special talents to hockey. There were many trips made to the Tasty Treat or McDonalds for burgers, to Horyls for fresh kielbasa for a special care package from Nannie or to buy Halloween treats for children in the family or of the community alike.
Generations of Dominion children will remember her for having some of the best Halloween treats in town. Generosity and kindness to all who graced her home was enjoyed by many. Boxing day with family and special friends was always a treasured time when her turkey and cheer was enjoyed each year.
Besides her home and family, Frances enjoyed bingo, shuffleboard, darts, card games dances and social gatherings. She loved all music but most especially that of her beloved Danny ODonnel who she enjoyed a kiss from when she attended a live concert.
The past four years in her new home she enjoyed and was usually the first one in line for an outing or social gathering. Her days were filled with activities, love and kindness that was so freely given by the staff at Harbourstone. They ensured her final years were that of exceptional quality in every way.
Frances is survived by her loving daughter, Arlene (MacPerson) Churney, Dominion; grandchildren, Donna Churney Lordly (Winston), Antigonish, John Churney (Chris), Timberlea, Karen Churney Poulin (Jay), Dominion, Ronnie Campbell (Ronda), Etobicoke; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Sarah, Samuel, Jean-Jacques, Cassandra and Bret; special niece, Anne Louise Weirnikie; special friend, Jenna Leigh Buchanan; along with many other nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her loving husbands, John Mark MacPherson and Stephen Christoff, son, Alexander MacPherson, siblings, Greg, Theresa, Shirley, Fred, Reginald and Neil, grandchildren, Brian and Kevin MacPherson.
