David Musial

David Musial

It is with great sadness that the family announces the passes of David on June 8, 2019 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
David Musial was the proud son of Greg and Anne Musial. David adored his parents and was very protective of them as they were of him. He was their pride and joy, and they had a strong, respectful and loving relationship.
David was married to the love of his life, Elizabeth, for over 41 years. They met as teens, fell in love, and built a beautiful life together. The key to their beautiful relationship was that they always respected each other and made every decision together. David always said, for him it was love at first sight. He would tell you every single detail of the first day he saw her. To him, the sun rose and set for his adoring wife.
David was a wonderful father and treasured his two sons Marc and Bradley. He wanted to give them the world and did everything he could to make that happen. He was so proud of them, and all of their accomplishments. Bradley and Marc both said he was the best father two boys could have asked for. Not only was he their father, but also their best friend. One of David’s more recent titles, and one he was most proud of, was Papa. His grandchildren, Jacek and Layla were his pride and joy, and he loved them fiercely. They had a bond so special, words cannot explain it.
Dave worked hard, and ran a successful business, the Bayside, along with his wife, family, and dedicated and loyal staff. The Bayside wasn’t only a business, it became a second family. In earlier years, David had a passion for hockey, drag racing, and all things shiny and fast. He also spent many times on hunting and fishing trips with his father. Later on in life, his passion switched to his beautiful Pepsi Blue Harley Davidson Classic Soft tail. He was a devoted and loyal friend and spent many hours in the garage with “the boys” listening to Willie, Waylon, and Bob.
Family was so important to David, and he loved big family gatherings, lobster boils, BBQ’s and birthdays where we all spent time together. David was a man of a few words, but when he did speak it made an impact. He could tell you with one glance how he felt. Those who knew him, lost a shining light in their life.
David will be fondly remembered by his parents, Greg and Anne; his wife, Elizabeth; his sons, Marc (Nicole) and Bradley, and his grandchildren, Jacek and Layla; his mother-in-law, Mary, whom he loved to torment; his brother and sisters-in-law, Theresa (Gordie) and family, Rita (Doug) and family, Lorry (Jo-Anne) and family, Francie (Raylene) and family, Robert (Raylene) and family and Jimmy; his aunts, Sophie and Mary; along with many more nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and extended family.
He was predeceased by his paternal and maternal grandparents; father-in-law, Papa James; aunts and uncles, Teresa and Cal, Stanley, Bill, Tony, and his cousin, Donna.
Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held Tuesday, June 11th from 2-4 and 7-9 and a funeral will be Wednesday, June 12th at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard, Mt. Carmel Ave., followed by a luncheon at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of McLellan Brothers Funeral Home, 3183 Plummer Ave., New Waterford, 902-862-7500.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Cape Breton Regional hospital for being so amazing, and his special nurse Melissa.
Donations in memory of David can be made to the An Cala Unit, Palliative Care, C.B. Regional Hospital.
When you think of David, celebrate the good memories you have of him. Life is short and fragile, so cherish those close to you. Always remember, it’s 5 o’clock somewhere!
