Heidi Candido passed away peacefully June 4, 2011 surrounded by her loving family and friends in Kamloops, B.C.

Heidi was predeceased by her parents Paul and Erna Lowenberger, brother Melvin and sister Sandra Piekarz (Thorsten Bredberg).

Heidi is survived by her loving son Brett (Sarah) Candido, her brother Nolan and sister Sheila, as well as numerous relatives, god children, honourary children and friends.
Heidi was born in Poznan, Poland on September 23, 1943 and came to Canada as a young child with her mother. As a teenager Heidi attended NorKam Secondary School. She worked at the Kamloops Daily News for more than 25 years and considered her customers and co-workers among her circle of friends. Heidi was a devoted mother to her son Brett and second mother to countless others.

She was very active in the community, politics and passionate about the outdoors. Her love of trees was infamous. Heidi's generous and feisty spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is deeply loved, respected and a true inspiration.

All are invited to a tea Celebrating Heidi's Life on Saturday, June 11, 2011 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. in the Parkside Lounge at the ISC. A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
