Mary Marguerite Mews, formerly of Middleton, Annapolis County, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Dykeland Lodge, Windsor. Born in Jamestown, Bonavista Bay, NL, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Thryphenia (Chaulk) Wells. Together with her late husband, she owned and operated a general store in Pasadena, NL, where she later became Post Mistress. She retired to Middleton and enjoyed playing golf and cards, especially bridge. She is survived by two daughters: Beth Fisher, Dartmouth, formerly of New Minas; Mary Louise (Bramwell) Chaulk, Bonne Bay Pond, NL; a sister, Violet Martin, Windsor; five grandchildren: Jill Fisher and Jo Ann (Scott) Inness, both of Dartmouth; Robert Chaulk, Ottawa; Lorelei (Sean) Audas, Bedford and Jennifer (Glen) Hoar, Comox, British Columbia; six great-grandchildren: Kate, Olivia, Matthew, Ashley, Quinn and Mackenzie; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil; two sisters: Nellie Evans and Dorothy Norman; a brother, Robert Wells; a son-in-law, Gerald “Bush†Fisher. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Kentville and there will be no visitation, by family request. The family will greet friends and relatives for a time of fellowship and refreshments at a reception to be held from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, September 6, 2009 in the White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Burial will take place at a later date in Pasadena, NL. Family flowers only, by request. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
