The death occurred Sept. 3, 2009, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital of William Richard Grant of Hermitage, aged 84 years. Beloved husband of Betty (Sentner) Weatherbie. Father of Peter (Shelley), Margaret (Doug Fraser), Ann (Barry Enman); stepfather of Emmett, David and Mary-Lou. Survived by sister Mabel, Saint John, N.B., and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by parents Jim and Ida Grant of Souris, and infant son Gary. Transferred from the Jenkins Funeral Home, Millview, to the Hillsboro Funeral Home, Stratford, for visitation Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Saturday from St. Joachim’s Church, Vernon River, at 11 a.m. Interment in the church cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, memorial contributions to St. Joachim’s Church or the P.E.I. Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Comrades of Eldon Legion Branch #7 will hold a veteran’s tribute service for their late comrade at the funeral home Friday at 6:45. Arrangements entrusted to the Jenkins Funeral Home, Millview.
