1940-2011

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Butterfield on Monday, June 6, 2011.

He was first and foremost a spiritual man, dedicated to his religious beliefs and lived and followed that life true to the end. He loved life and people, had a good sense of humor and was a great storyteller. He was always up for a game of baseball, a word game, or doing a crossword. Most of his working career was as a Service Advisor/ Manager, within the G.M. dealerships throughout BC.
He was born November 26, 1940 at the home of his grandmother in Vancouver, BC. On September 30th, 1960 Gary married Beverly Boyd and together they raised four children. They started life together in Vancouver and moved to various towns of BC. finally settling in Kamloops. They enjoyed 50 years together sharing experiences and the joys of life as each other's best friend. They were grandparents to five grandchildren and Gary was lovingly known as "Papa."

Left with fond memories is the love of his life, Beverly, and his four children Valerie (Clayton), Shannon (Chris), Wade (Amber), Loretta (Ian). He is also survived by his five grandchildren Cole, Lauren, Quinton, Madison and Skye. Gary will also be remembered by his brother Glenn.
Gary was known as a teacher and a mentor always ready to provide helpful advice. Aging was difficult for Gary as he was always young at heart and had a love of life. His loss will leave a void in many lives.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on June 11, 2011, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1985 Curlew Road.

The family wishes to thank the emergency response and the hospital staff for their tireless efforts and kindness shown. We would also like to thank family and friends for their love, support and generosity.
