It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mom, Annie Florence Snow (Pye). Annie passed on Sunday, June 23, 2019 at the Northside General Hospital. Annie was born on January 26, 1928. She was 91. Annie was the daughter of the late Herb and Hannah Pye (Antle) of Sydney Mines. She was married to the late Daniel Kenneth Snow until his passing in 1987. She is survived by her children, Irene (Rod) of Moncton, NB, Isaline (Owen) of Alder Point, Hannah (Mitch) of Grand Cayman, Darlene (Gord) of Sydney Mines, Leonard of Halifax and Jean (Kenneth) of Balls Creek, and daughters-in-law, Judy (Vic) of Port Hawksbury and Bernadette (Herbie) of Boularderie. She is also survived by her sisters, Aline (Lou) Dove of Sydney Mines and Jean (Ian) Gillan of Scarborough Ontario. Annie is predeceased by her parents, Herbert John and Hannah Pye; brothers, John (Evelyn), Fred (Eileen), Leonard (Liza), Aninias, Clarence (Sis), Elijah, Victor and Charles (Dorothy), and by her sister, Sarah Belle. She is also predeceased by her sons, Victor and Herbert. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren, Mark, Shelley, Kenneth, Cathy, Kenneth, Cynthia, Geniva, Sherry, Aaron, Kendre, Gordon, Melissa, Irene, Brent, Victor and Victoria, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. We would like to thank the Home Makers Society and the V.O.N. for the loving care and support they gave to Mom and our family. Also, the Red Cross. Without you Mom wouldn't have been able to stay in her home as long as she was able. We would also like to thank her long-time physician, Dr. Elizabeth McCormick whom Mom loved so much, and the Dr.'s, nurses and support staff at the Regional and Northside Hospitals. Special thanks to our cousin Linda and sister-in-law Bernadette for the support and help and the many hours you spent at the hospital, you went above and beyond. Thanks to Donna for the care she gave Mom's constant companions, Kimba and Kimber. Our mom was a wonderful person who cared not only for her own children but any other children who came through the door. There was always a hot cuppa tea and biscuits in the kitchen and if you came at the right time, a piece of homemade bread and a bowl of homemade soup. No one was ever turned away. Mom also spent time in the corner store she and Dad ran and had a great rapport with the young ones who came to play the pinball machine or listen to the jukebox. Others just came to chat with her. Although she led a quiet life the last few years she spent a lot of time preaching and teaching about God's kingdom. It was very important to Mom and she did it with zeal. Our Mom will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will take place on Thursday, July 4 at 2 o'clock at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 29 Quilty Ave., North Sydney, NS. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Annie's name to the charity of your choice.
