Lloyd Frederick Phalen - age 86, of New Minas, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019, in the Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. Born in Kentville, he was a son of the late Oswald and Henrietta “Etta” (Morley) Phalen. He is survived by a son, Randy (Debbie), Powell River, British Columbia; sister, Doreen Corkum, New Minas; grandsons, Colton and Connor; nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. He was predeceased by his common-law wife, Bessie Cox; sister, Theresa Southern; brothers, Donald and Wilfred. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation by request. A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 in the Elm Grove Cemetery, Steam Mill. All are welcome. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
