Hadley Maxwell Burns
Burns, Hadley Maxwell, 96, Truro, passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2011, in The Mira, Truro. Born in Noel Road, Hants County, he was a son of the late Harry and Muriel (Ettinger) Burns. Hadley was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas in the Royal Canadian Medical Corp.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, the former Helen Pridham; son Hadley Jr. (Saundra), Cambridge, ON; daughter Helen “Gay” Ogden, Bible Hill; brother Ronnie, Sydney, NS, Donald, Ontario; sisters, Cassie Linnborn, Burlington, ON, Margie Hycha, Oshawa, ON; grandchildren, Christine (Jeff), Pte. David (Andra), Marsha (Jerry), Mary (Adam), Kelly (Katie), Terri (Jake); great-grandchildren, Conner, Peter, Emma, Skylar, Summer, Damien, Ruthie, Zackery, Megan.
He was predeceased by, brothers, George, William, Darrel, John, Martell, Douglas; sister, Maxine.
Visitation will take place on Saturday from 7 until 9 pm, and from where the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 26, Truro will conduct a Legion Tribute Service Saturday at 7 pm and from where funeral service will take place on Sunday June 12th at 2:30 pm, all in the Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Rev. David Lutes will officiate with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Selmah United Church Cemetery, Selmah.
