BASTARACHE, FLORA - Flora Bastarache, 86, of Auberge du Soleil, Dieppe, and previously of Peoples Park Tower, Moncton, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont University Hospital Centre following a lengthy illness. Born on September 10, 1924 in Lakeburn, NB, she was the daughter of the late François and Marie (Landry) LeBlanc. She resided in Oshawa, Ontario for 55 years. She returned to Moncton in 1994 residing at Peoples Park Tower for 14 years and the last two years at Auberge du Soleil. She was a devout catholic involved with different church organizations in Oshawa. She is survived by four children whom she cherished: Carmelle LeSurf of Peterborough, ON, Germaine Fraser (John) of Midland, ON, Diane Redden (Terry) of Lower Sackville, NS and Paul (Nancy) of Kirkfield,ON; two brothers and four sisters: Gerard (Rita), Alfred (Jeannine), Dolorese Melanson (Alfred), Berthe LeBlanc (late Eric), Pauline Belliveau (Francis) and Yolande Melanson (Donald); one sister-in-law, Rosita Bastarache; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Ola in 1994, her son Terry in 2002, her infant daughter Pamela in 1957 and three sisters: Viola Noel (late Louis), Hectorine Gautreau (Norman) and Aline Bourque (Laurie).
The family will receive condolences at Frenette Funeral Home, 88 Church Street, Moncton (858-1900) on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral, Moncton on Monday June 13, 2011 at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery, Dieppe.
