Passed peacefully away on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Pentecostal Senior Citizen’s Home, Anne (Annie) Lester (nee Oldford) in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husband Hubert (1999). Left to mourn with many fond memories are her children: Dr. June Lester, Vancouver, B.C., Sharon Martin (Paul) and Mike Lester, St. John’s; four precious grandchildren: Craig Martin (Buffy), Scott Martin (Tina), Joey Martin (Jennifer) and Anne-Marie (Brad Noftall); three precious, precious great-grandchildren: Jacob and Laurel Martin and Jack Noftall. Also leaving to mourn, sister Dorothy Hess, Richmond, Quebec; sister-in-law Nerissa Oldford, St. John’s, Una Oldford, Brigus and many nieces and nephews and friends especially her friends at Parkdale Manor, Mount Pearl. Resting at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave., St. John’s. Visitation on Saturday, June 11, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Sunday, June 12, from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 13, with interment to follow at the Field of Honor, Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
