Murray Thomas Melanson
Melanson, Murray Thomas, 67, Debert, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born in Springhill, November 27, 1943, he was a son of the late Eldred and Josephine (Cliffe) Melanson. Murray was very involved in the Debert Fire Brigade and the Hazmat Team.
He is survived by his loving wife Gail and children Don Melanson, Bob Hemphill, Darlene Hemphill-Wilson, Cheryl Hummel, Barry Hemphill; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, John, Ed, Michael. He will be sadly missed by, his family and friends.
No visitation by family request. Arrangements are under the direction of Mattatall~Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 15th at 2 pm in the Debert Fellowship Centre, Debert with Rev. Troy Claridge and Rev. Bill Martin officiating. Family flowers only. Donations in Murray’s memory may be made to the Colchester East Hants Hospice Society.
