The death occurred at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Sunday, June 12, 2011, of Richard Handy, of Summerside, aged 55 years. Born in Shelburne, NS, he was the son of Ken and Katherine (Bower) Handy, Lower Sackville, NS. Survived by his loving wife Thelma (Gaudet) Handy; sons Christopher (Yelena) Handy, St. Albert, AB; Brennan Handy, Halifax, NS; their mother Brenda Handy, NS; grandchildren Naomi and Xavier Handy; step-children Justin Cȏté (Kayla Misner), Charlottetown and Jamie Cȏté, Summerside; sister Joyce (John) MacIsaac, Dartmouth, NS; brother Kenneth Handy (Betty MacLean), Dartmouth, NS; mother-in-law Leona Gaudet, St. Gilbert; and by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Resting at the Moase Funeral Home, Summerside, until Thursday, then to St. Mary's Anglican Church, Summerside, for funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment in Peoples Cemetery, Summerside.
