MEEDS - Catherine (Kay) September 26, 1909 – June 12, 2011 passed away peacefully at the Palliser Regional Care Center in Swift Current, SK on June 12, 2011. She is survived by four daughters Joan (David) Crofton, June (Bruce) Garner, Frances Chipurda, Fae (John) Story. Will be sadly missed by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and ten nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband Arthur Meeds, sister Dorothy (age 2), brother Archie (age 2 months) brother David (Betty) McConnachie, sister Lillian (Jack) Hammill; one grandchild Rhonda Crofton, brother-in-law Cory (Edith) Meeds, Fred (Isla) Meeds, sister–in- law Ila (Murray) Garneau; sons-in-law Orest Chipurda, Ken Lehman. Kay emigrated from England when she was 3 years of age. Her childhood was spent in and around Regina, SK and after marriage spent a large portion of her life in Prince Albert, SK where she was employed as a CNA at the Victoria Union Hospital. Here Kay and Art raised their family. Kay was a longtime member of the Church of the Nazarene. In her 90’s she moved to Swift Current to be closer to her only daughter still living in Saskatchewan. The family will hold a memorial service at a later date. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Parkside Memorial Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
