Jessie Laureena “Lou” Greene, 103, of the Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow, formerly of Woodburn, Pictou County, died Saturday September 5, 2009 in the manor.
Born in Pictou Landing, N.S., she was a daughter of the late George MacPherson and Annie Jane (Fraser) MacDonald.
She was a resident of Roderick Street, New Glasgow before moving to North Attleboro, Mass. where she resided for some 30 years.
While in Massachusetts, she was employed with Texas Instruments Ltd. for some 18 years. In 1979 she returned to reside in Woodburn, Pictou County.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in New Glasgow.
Surviving is a sister, Jean Newman, New Glasgow.
She was predeceased by her husband, J. Alfred Greene; sisters, Alice Ballantyne and Margaret Urquhart; brothers, Allister Fraser MacDonald and George Raymond Scott MacDonald in infancy.
Her remains will rest in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, from where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Dr. Glen Matheson officiating.
Burial to follow in the Valley View Cemetery, East River St. Mary’s.
