WHALEN, SHANNON JOY - Shannon Joy (May) Whalen, 34, of Fredericton. Shannon’s family is deeply saddened to announce she passed away suddenly Sunday June 12, 2011. Originally from Corner Brook, NL, she was a daughter of Maxine (Baker) May of Elmsdale, NS and Philip May of Ottawa. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian, adored son Zachary, age 7, sister Kimberly (Shayne) Speight and niece Isabella of Calgary, sister Jacqueline May (Kenneth Sutton) of Enfield, NS. She is also survived by half-brother Eli, his mother Meghan, Mother in Law Charlene, Brother in Law John (Amanda Steeves) and scores of fond family members. A beloved mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend, Shannon will be forever and deeply missed by all who knew her generous and selfless heart, patience and fierce devotion to her young son.
Visitation is Thursday, June 16, 7 to 9 pm, Service June 17, 11 am Bishop’s Funeral Home, Fredericton. Donations to a trust for Zachary (www.bishopsfuneralhome.com) or her employer Canadian Red Cross gratefully accepted.
