With deep regret and profound sadness we announce the passing of our father and friend Norval Russell Blair on June 12, 2011, at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital. Born May 26, 1931 in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, life-long resident of St. John’s, Newfoundland. Predeceased by wife Eleanor (Sharpe) (2000), parents Olive and Frederick Blair, sister Olive and son-in-law Wesley Paul. Leaving to mourn his children: Gail (Antonio) Simoes Re, Anne Campbell (Malcolm), Wendy Paul and Fred (Suzanne). Special friend Andree Thoms; sister Peg Brookbank (Jim Murdoch) and brother Dale (Shirley); grandchildren: Xandre, Tasha and Andre Simoes Re, Laura and Kyle Campbell, Stacy and Amy Paul, Fraser, Andrea, Jason and James Blair; his beloved pet and companion Benji. Also leaving to mourn brother-in-law Dr. Edward Sharpe (Linda); sisters-in-law: Patricia Russell (Paul), Irene Normandin (Aram), Jill Parker (Jay) and Noreen Sharpe. As well as a large circle of nephews, nieces and other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday and Wednesday, June 14 and 15, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place from St. Andrews Presbyterian Church (The Kirk) on Thursday, June 16, 2011 at 11 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
