Lillian Moskovits

of 1177 Gorge Road, Moncton and formerly of St. John's, Newfoundland passed away at Moncton Hospital on Monday April 18, 2011 at the age of 93. Born July 23, 1917 in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Miriam and Paul Perletz.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Sarah Moskovits (Frank Cook) of Riverview, son, Richard Moskovits (Rosalind) of Salt Springs, NS and her cherished granddaughter, Jessica Miriam Cook. She was predeceased by her husband George in 2002.
Lillian was born in New York City and trained as a nurse at Bellevue Hospital. She worked as a ward nurse during her younger years in Rhode Island, Connecticut, Texas and Virginia. In 1965 the family moved to Newfoundland, where she continued to pursue her nursing career as an instructor at the Grace General Hospital in St. John's. She retired in 1982 and spent the next 29 years of her life pursuing her loves of music, reading, travel and spending time with family and friends. Lillian was beloved by her family and cherished by her friends. She touched all who met her with her dignity, grace, infectious laughter and joy of living. She will be greatly missed by all. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Woodland, Dr. Martin and social worker Carol Snelgrove for the wonderful care shown to our mother, Lillian.
A memorial service for Lillian will be held from the Cochrane Street United Church in St. John’s on Friday, June 17th at 2:00 p.m. with a reception to follow, all are invited to attend.
