It is with great sadness that the family of the late Herbert Stone announces his passing on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques at the age of 93 years. Herbert was the son of the late Frank and Annie Stone (nee Strickland). He was also predeceased by his sister Dorothy, sister Rita Sheaves, brother Maxwell Stone, sister-in-law Carrie Stone and brother-in-law Airmain Sheaves. Leaving to mourn with fond and precious memories, sister Bernice Osmond and brother-in-law Albert, as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews, many friends, including those friends and staff at Mountain Hope Manor. Friends visited Fillatre’s Funeral Home in Port aux Basques on Thursday evening and Friday. The funeral service took place on Saturday, June 11 at 2 p.m. at Wesley United Church in Port aux Basques. Rev. Patricia Richie officiated. Interment followed at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to Wesley United Church.
