Tillie Klarenbach of Calgary, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the age of 81 years.
Tillie was born September 8, 1927, and immigrated to Saskatchewan at the age of two years. She grew up near the Great Sand Hills and the South Saskatchewan River. After moving to Calgary and attending business school with her good friend Dorothy Gilbert, she met and married Oscar Klarenbach.
Tillie was an active member of Parkdale United Church, Parkdale Community Association and the Nifty Fifties Club. She loved her garden, craftwork with Doris Collins, bridge club and animals of every description. We especially remember her love of life, caring nature, keen wit, positive attitude and dedication to her family and friends.
Tillie is survived by her loving son, Dale; daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Bill Andrew; sister, Lydia Eberle; brother, Bill (Charlene) Krien; as well as her beloved nieces, nephews and numerous friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar; brothers, Fred and Robert Krien; parents, Eva and John Krien.
Funeral services will be held at Parkdale United Church (2919 - 8th Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, September 10, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
