Betty’s family is deeply saddened to announce she passed away after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on June 16, 2011. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband John Hurley, son Paul (Arlene), daughter Wanda (Matthew), grandchildren Kelly and John; sisters Elsie (Mart), Alice (Bob), Donna (Paul), Brenda; brothers Michael (Edith), Gus (Zita), Frank (Juanita), Greg, and also a large circle of in-laws, nieces, nephews, many friends and her walking buddy Daisy. She is predeceased by her father and mother Benedict and Annie Foley and sister Linda. Her positive and fun loving spirit will be missed by all that know her. Cremation has taken place and friends may call at Russell’s Funeral Home, 57 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville, NL on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will take place at St. Stephens Parish on Monday, June 20, 2011, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at the Hillside Interfaith Cemetery, Hansen Highway, Stephenville, NL. In lieu of flowers donations to the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital Foundation are greatly appreciated.
