It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother on June 16, 2011, at the Cobequid Health Centre, Lower Sackville, surrounded by her loving family.
Born 1921 in Ramea, Nfld., she was the daughter of the late Garfield and Nina (Morris) Payne.
Mom resided for many years at the Maple View Manor in North Sydney, where she enjoyed a good game of cards, bingo and puzzle nights with her friends. She then later moved to Lower Sackville to be close to her family and resided at Ivy Meadows Nursing Home, Beaver Bank.
She is survived by son, John (Audrey) of Lower Sackville; daughter, Veronica Belisle of Beaver Bank; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband, Pat; sister, Violet and brother, Hubert.
Mom will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and a friend to all who knew her.
The family would like to say a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Ivy Meadows, for the care of our mother.
Cremation to take place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. A graveside service will be held in St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery, Sydney Mines, 4 p.m. Thursday, June 23, 2011.
