McMULLIN, JOHN JAMES GORDON "JAMIE" - It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of James McMullin of Oromocto, NB on June 17, 2011. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Darrell and Brenda McMullin and husband of Megan (Basker) McMullin.
The two most important things in Jamie’s life were his family and his career. His favorite place to be was at “The Lollipop,” sitting around a campfire, surrounded by all of his immediate and extended family. He was a loving and wonderful husband and father and times spent with his wife and children were precious. He was also extremely proud of his military career and of especially being a Royal. Jamie will be greatly missed by his wife, Megan; his sons, Brayden Basker and Hunter and Jake McMullin; his parents, Darrell and Brenda; maternal grandparents, Gordon and Sara Miller of Glace Bay, NS; paternal grandmother, Sylvia MacMullin of Reserve Mines, NS; sisters, Star McMullin (David Southwell) of Cambridge, ON and Cory McMullin (Mike Steele) of Red Deer, AB; parents-in-law, Wesley and Lynn Basker of Lincoln, NB; sister-in-law, April Basker of Lincoln, NB; niece, Keileigh Southwell; nephews, Eli and Ethan Southwell, Logan Steele and Liam Wilkie; several aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as “The Boys” from Oromocto. Jamie is predeceased by his paternal grandfather, James “Buddy” MacMullin.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 21st, 2011 at 10:00 am at St. Mary’s Chapel, CFB Gagetown. A visitation and mass will be held for James later in the week in Glace Bay, Cape Breton, NS. Interment will also take place in Nova Scotia in the St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Glace Bay, NS.
