It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Obeline Karluk on Friday June 17, 2011 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by her loving family.
Born in L’ardoise, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Catherine (Martell) Sampson.
Obeline was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her children, Connie (John) Jennings, Albert Bridge, Kay (Paul) Fraser, Kentville, Michael ‘Mike’ (Dena) Karluk, Marion Bridge; nine grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Michael Karluk and her siblings.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Monday June 20, 2011 in the S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Father Conrad Edwards officiating.
Reception to follow. Interment to take place in Resurrection Cemetery, Sydney Forks.
