SPENCER, Norman William “Norm” – 73, Bass River, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2011, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born July 26, 1937, in Spencer Point, he was a son of the late Minor and Laura (Chisholm) Spencer. Norm worked for Stan Moore at Esso and Superline Fuels for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, dancing and playing crib. Norman leaves to mourn his wife of 17 years, Coryl (Roberts) Spencer; son, Mark Spencer, London, Ontario; brothers, Willard Spencer, Portapique; Roderick Spencer, Truro; several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Verna, Pearl, Bernice; brother, Arnold. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Norm’s family will receive friends from 1-1:45 p.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011, followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m., Reverend Florence Antle-Brison officiating.
