The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, on Friday, June 17, 2011, of Margaret Noel of Summerside, P.E.I, aged 95 years.
Born in Gardiner Mines, Cape Breton, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Mary Ann (MacDonald) Mackie.
Margaret, a devout catholic, was a member of the former Mount Carmel Church, currently the Parish Church of St. Leonard, and the CWL. She was known for her great sense of humour and had a deep love for her family; they meant everything to her.
Margaret is survived by her children, Len (Rose), Joan McIsaac, Frank (Brenda), Sheila (Russell); eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Isobel Roach, Alice Kyte, also cherished friend Sylvia Jeffrey.
She was predeceased by husband, Charles, brothers, Angus, Dan, Charlie, Leonard, Bernie, Johnny, Pat, Tom.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 21 from 7-9 p.m. at V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration for Margaret will take place Wednesday, June 22 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery, Gardiner Mines, with a luncheon to follow at St. Leonard’s Hall, Convent Street, New Waterford.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of one’s choice.
