It is with heavy hearts that we, the family announce the passing of Sidney ‘Sid’ Williams, on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2009, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, after a brief illness.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of Donald M. ‘Donnie’, Taigh Na Mara, and Marie (Thurgood) Williams, Sydney.
Sid was employed with Sydney Steel until his retirement.
He enjoyed fishing, reading and spending time with his friends.
Sid is survived by his parents, Donnie and Marie; sister, Donna Marie Williams, Sydney; his uncles, James (Phyllis) Williams, Sydney, and Charles (Lois) Thurgood, Windsor, Ont., as well as several cousins, many friends, especially his good friend, Allisdar Patterson.
Sid was predeceased by his uncle, John N. Williams.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens with Rev. Bob Lyle officiating.
